· These Analog outputs are used as ON/OFF outputs is this application. They control the
range of the transmission.
Faults related to outputs B1, B3
This pair of outputs forms when combined properly with an H-bridge DC motor driver. As such it's used
to control a servomotor linked to the engine fuel pump setting.
Faults related to outputs B5
This output controls the engine start disable relay.
Faults on it are flagged, but no further action is taken. Generally, it will always possible to start the
engine.
2.2.8.1 Fault Codes for Analog Output Faults
71.00
· Several output wires are shorted to each other
· The output's Sense line is shorted to Vbat
· The output's Plus line is shorted to Ground
71.01
· The output is not connected or its Plus line is shorted to
Vbat
71.02
· The output current exceeds 1400 mA (not quite a short
yet)
71.03
· The output current is Out Of Range. Typically, this
occurs when the load has the incorrect impedance.
Note that the first two digits identify the output exhibiting the fault:

2.2.9 Single Faults on Discrete Outputs
Fault detection mechanism
Faults related to ON/OFF outputs are detected by comparing the desired Output State with the actual
Output State (using dedicated feedback lines).
Faults related to A15, A16 (Forward – Reverse solenoids)
Faults related to A15, A16 generally result in selection of Neutral. The engine is forced to Low Idle
and the parking brake is turned on.
In Platform Control Mode, the controller reverts to SHUTDOWN until powerdown.
In Handler and in Cabin Control Mode, after coming to a stop, drive can be resumed after turning off
the parking brake.
