FUNCTION KEYS ON THE
TELEVISION
The control panel (

ont of the television (bottom right)
allows you to control all the main functions even without the r
emote
control. The main power switch (
[35] Fig. 5) is located at the r
ear of
the television on the right hand side.
4.3
SWITCHING ON AND OFF
4.3.1
Switching on in stand-by
Set the main power switch [35]
to position “I” to switch on power
.
The two LED [27]
and [28]
light simultaneously but after about 15
seconds only the red standby LED [
28]r
emains lit. This shows that the
television is in standby mode, ready to be switched on for viewing.
4.3.2
Switching on for viewing
With the television in standby, pr
ess one or two number keys on the
remote contr
ol [2]
. If you press just one key
, the system waits a few
seconds to see if you press a second key
. If you do not, the televi-
sion switches on and selects the channel identified by the one num-

ber key you have pressed. The first time you switch on it may well
display nothing other than a screen of moving dots. In technical ter-
minology this is referr
ed to as ‘snow’. Snow appears when the tele-
vision is not tuned in to a channel.
There ar
e two LED on the front panel of the television. During nor-
mal functioning, these LED inform you of the television’s operating
status. T
