. The quickest way to go to the
next or the previous page to the one you ar
e viewing is to press key

• Using the colour keys to select pages. Some channels br

cast a legend of four colours (red, gr
een, yellow and cyan) at the
bottom of the page, each associated with a differ
ent topic. The
quickest way to go to the pages corresponding to these topics is to
press the colour

, 5
or 6]
on the remote contr
ol associa-
ted with the desired topic.
• Selecting sub-pages. T
eletext topics are fr
equently organised in
sub-pages. The television automatically displays these in the correct
sequence. When you enter a sequence of sub-pages, you will see a
page refer
ence, e.g. 6/18, on the screen. This shows you that you
are curr
ently viewing e.g. sub-page 6 out of a total of 18 sub-pages.
If you want to go directly to a specific sub-page without waiting for
it to appear in turn, e.g. page number 15, simply pr
ess key [15]
on
the remote contr
ol and then use the numeric keypad [2]
to enter the
4 digit number corresponding to the r
equired sub-page (in our
example enter 0 0 1 5). Repeat the procedur
e to call other sub-
pages.
• Holding a page. If you want to keep a sub-page on scr
een for a
longer time than normal, press key
[14]on the r
emote control once.
The current page will r
emain displayed until you press the same key
again to release it. Pr
ess the same key again to release the page
and allow T eletext to display the next sub-page in the sequence.
• Wa
iting for a page to display. While you ar
e waiting for a T eletext
page (or sub-page) to be found and displayed, you can temporarily
quit T eletext to watch the television by pr
essing key [16]
on the
remote contr
ol. The television image displays the “TXT” message in
the top left corner
. When the T eletext page (or sub-page) has been
found and is ready to display the “TXT” message is r
eplaced by its

OTHER FUNCTIONS
4.9.1 Pr
ogramming automatic switch-off time
This function lets you program a time in minutes after which the
television will automatically switch off and go into standby
. Y ou can
switch the timer on and off fr
om the Other Functions
menu as fol-
lows.

oll through the menu to “Sleep Timer”. Select “On” and
then select the time after which the television must switch off: “15”,
“30”, “45”, “60”, “75”, “90”, “105” or “120”.

f the viewing lock

4.9.3 T eletext
T eletext is a text information service that some channels br
oadcast.
T eletext typically pr
ovides news on specific issues. T eletext informa-
tion is typically divided into topic ‘pages’ (individual screens), each
identified by a 3 digit number . Pages can sometimes contain ‘sub-
pages’. One page (normally page 100) contains the table of con-
tents showing the page numbers on which all the topics are found.
If the channel you are tuned in to br
oadcasts T eletext, pr
oceed as
follows to consult the service.
NOTE: T
eletext is organised in dif
ferent ways by each channel.
Some of the consultation methods described below may not there-
fore apply to the T
eletext service of the channel you are watching.
• Press key
[9]on the r
emote control once to enter T
eletext mode.
The television image disappears and is replaced by the table of con-
tents screen of the channel’
s T eletext service. If you pr
efer , you can
press key
[11]on the r
emote control to continue viewing the televi-
sion image behind the T eletext page. If you pr
ess the same key
again, the T eletext scr
een is restor
ed without the television image.
NOTE: All the following operations must be performed with the
T eletext scr
een displayed.
