USE AND MAINTENANCE

Only use

original

Suomy accessories and

spare parts

or those specifically

indicated by Suomy for the specific model: this is the only way to assure reliabi-

lity, safety and compatibility with the helmet used.

# The use of non original components and/or accessories make the warranty void

(see warranty conditions) and can affect the safety requirements.

clean the shell

use water and mild soap; let the helmet dry at room tempera-

ture, never expose it to heat.

# Cleaning the helmet

with solvents, petrol by-products or chemical substances,

applying stickers or painting the helmet could affect the structure of the shell, thus

affecting the safety features, even if the damage is not readily visible.

Do not apply

stickers to, use petrol or other chemical solvents with this helmet.

If the helmet has to be re-painted, carefully comply with the instructions contained

in the paragraph RE-PAINTING.

To clean the

internal lining

use a damp cloth and mild soap only. Let the treated

parts dry at room temperature away from direct sunlight and never expose them

to heat.

Periodically clean the

«D-Ring» system

with warm water and mild soap.

Do not

use solvents or chemical detergents and do not lubricate.

All painted surfaces are subject to a natural alteration due to exposure to

atmospherics; particularly some colorings made with Fluo or UV paints, could be

subject to a faster migration phenomenon with a drop in intensity. The phenomenon

could be enhanced when the helmet is exposed for long periods to a particularly

intense light.

Suomy therefore, cannot be held responsible for alterations of the

painted surfaces due to wear (effects of sunlight, vapors, detergents, crashes,

scratches).

This does not jeopardize the performances and the quality of Jet Auto.

Suomy o indicati da Suomy

esplicitamente per questo modello di casco: solo in questo modo sono garantite

affidabilità, sicurezza e compatibilità con il casco utilizzato.

# L’utilizzo di componenti e/o accessori non originali comportano l’annullamento

della garanzia (vedere condizioni di garanzia) e possono comprometterne i

requisiti di sicurezza.

Per la

pulizia della calotta

utilizzare solo acqua e sapone neutro; lasciare

asciugare il casco a temperatura ambiente, non esporlo mai a fonti di calore.

con solventi derivati del petrolio o sostanze chimiche,

l’applicazione di adesivi o di vernici potrebbero intaccare la struttura della calotta

compromettendone le caratteristiche di sicurezza senza che tali danni siano

visibili dall’utente.

Non applicate a questo casco adesivi, benzina o altri

solventi chimici.

Nel caso si rendesse necessaria la riverniciatura attenersi scrupolosamente

alle indicazioni riportate nel par. RIVERNICIATURA.

Per la pulizia del

rivestimento interno

servirsi di un panno umido utilizzando

esclusivamente sapone neutro. Lasciare asciugare le parti trattate a temperatura

ambiente al riparo dal sole e senza mai esporle a fonti di calore.

Provvedere ad una pulizia periodica del sistema di ritenzione «D-Rings» con

acqua tiepida e sapone neutro.

Non usare solventi o detergenti chimici e non

lubrificare.

Tutte le superfici verniciate sono soggette ad una naturale alterazione dovuta

all’esposizione agli agenti atmosferici; in particolare le colorazioni realizzate con

vernici Fluo UV potrebbero essere soggette ad un naturale fenomeno di

migrazione più rapido con diminuzione della loro intensità. Il fenomeno può essere

accentuato quando il casco viene esposto per lunghi periodi a luce

particolarmente intensa.

Suomy declina pertanto ogni responsabilità nel caso di

alterazioni delle superfici verniciate riconducibili a fenomeni di usura (effetti della

luce solare, vapori, prodotti detergenti, urti, graffiature).

Tutto ciò non pregiudica però le prestazioni e la qualità di Jet Auto.

RETENTION SYSTEM

«D-RING»

- see fig. 2

Insert the free end of the strap in the rings.

Pull until the strap fits tightly around the jaw.

After doing this, it should be impossible to slide out the helmet; verify that, by

taking it from the back edge and rotating it towards the front, the helmet cannot

be removed and that it remains well fixed on your head.

If the helmet tends to come off or it moves freely on the head, pull the strap tight

until the right pressure is reached and repeat test.

# If after repeating the test you are not able to efficiently tighten the retention

system, do not use the helmet.

Only after checking the correct tension of the strap, fix the free end part by

fastening with the press stud on the release tongue.

# The only function of the press stud fitted on the chin strap is to avoid fluttering

of the end part while riding. The fact the press stud is fastened is no guarantee that

the helmet has been positioned and closed correctly: the correct fastening of the

strap must be verified exclusively through the operations described in the pre-

vious paragraphs.

the retention system, unfasten the press stud and pull the tongue to

loosen the closure. Slide out the end part of the strap from the «D Rings ».

Use the unlocking tongue only to remove the helmet! Never unlock while riding.

# If the retention system does not work correctly, do not use the helmet.

SISTEMA DI RITENZIONE

Inserire il lembo libero del cinturino negli anelli.

Tirare il terminale fino a quando il cinturino preme saldamente contro la mascella.

Una volta eseguita questa operazione non deve più essere possibile sfilare il

casco; controllare che, afferrandolo per la parte posteriore e ruotandolo in avanti,

il casco non possa essere sfilato e rimanga ben saldo sulla testa.

Nel caso il casco tenda a sfilarsi o ruoti liberamente sulla testa, serrare ancora il

cinturino fino ad ottenere la giusta pressione e ripetere la prova.

# Se dopo aver ripetuto la prova non si riuscisse a serrare efficacemente il

sistema di ritenzione, astenersi dall’usare il casco.

Solo dopo aver controllato la corretta tensione del cinturino, fissare l’estremità

libera bloccandola con il bottone automatico sulla linguetta di sgancio.

# Il bottone automatico serve unicamente a fissare l’estremità libera del cinturino

per evitarne lo sventolio durante la guida. Il fissaggio del bottone di sgancio non

garantisce che il casco sia stato indossato ed allacciato correttamente: il corretto

serraggio del cinturino deve essere verificato esclusivamente per mezzo delle

operazioni descritte nei paragrafi precedenti.

Per slacciare il sistema di ritenzione, sganciare il bottone automatico e tirare la

linguetta di sgancio per allentare il serraggio. Sfilare il lembo libero del cinturino

dagli anelli «D Rings».

# Utilizzare la linguetta di sgancio solo per togliere il casco! Non azionare mai la

linguetta di sgancio durante la guida.

# Se il sistema di sgancio non funzionasse correttamente, astenersi dall’usare

il casco.

PADDING

# The inner fabric lining of the shell, head guard and chin guard cannot be

removed; these parts must not be removed or tampered with.

Only Suomy S.p.A. authorized personnel can remove and fit these components;

unauthorized interventions may affect the safety features of the helmet; Suomy

S.p.A. cannot be held responsible, directly and/or indirectly for using this product

as a safety means.

# Il rivestimento interno in tessuto della calotta, il paranuca e i guanciali, non sono

rimovibili; tali parti non devono essere assolutamente rimosse o

manomesse.

Lo smontaggio e il montaggio di tali componenti deve essere effettuato

esclusivamente da personale autorizzato Suomy S.p.A. ; interventi non autorizzati

possono compromettere le caratteristiche di sicurezza del casco ; Suomy S.p.A.

declina quindi qualsiasi responsabilità diretta e/o indiretta derivante dall’utilizzo di

tale prodotto come mezzo di sicurezza.

FRONT PANEL

Loosen without removing the screws

and

on both sides of the helmet, using

a screwdriver or small coin.

Adjust the position of the front panel by rotating it upwards or downwards until the

desired position is reached.

Tighten screw

on both sides. Check the position of the front panel again.

Tighten screw

on both sides.

REPLACING FRONT PANEL

Loosen and remove screws

and

on both sides of the helmet, using a

screwdriver or small coin; remove front panel.

Position the front panel making the side holes match with the threaded inserts

foreseen on the shell. Insert the screws

and

on both sides without completely

tightening them. Adjust the position of the front panel and lock it as indicated in the

paragraph above.

FRONTINO

REGOLAZIONE FRONTINO

Allentare senza rimuovere, le viti

poste su entrambi i lati del casco,

utilizzando un cacciavite o una piccola moneta.

Regolare la posizione del frontino ruotandolo verso l’alto o verso il basso fino ad

ottenere la posizione desiderata.

Serrare completamente la vite

su entrambi i lati. Ricontrollare la posizione del

frontino.

Serrare completamente la vite

SOSTITUZIONE FRONTINO

Allentare e rimuovere le viti

poste su entrambi i lati del casco, utilizzando un

cacciavite o una piccola moneta; rimuovere il frontino.

Posizionare il nuovo frontino facendo combaciare le forature laterali con gli inserti

filettati previsti sulla calotta. Inserire le viti

su entrambi i lati senza avvitarle

completamente. Regolare la posizione del frontino e bloccarlo come indicato nel

paragrafo precedente.

HANS DEVICE (Head And Neck Support) ®

Jet Auto is certified for the use of the HANS® system according to the FIA

8860-2004 standard and it is fitted with connections (posts) fitted by default and

certified by Suomy according to the requirements of the certification STD.

For this reason

the posts of the HANS® system cannot be tampered with,

removed and/or replaced. Removing the posts, modifications and/or alterations to

the system and/or its components or any other intervention carried out by

personnel not belonging to the Suomy organization make all warranties void and

may jeopardize the safety requirements or make the product non-compliant with

the certification standards.

For any intervention on the posts of the HANS® system, the helmet must

be exclusively sent to Suomy.

Suomy cannot be held responsible for problems resulting from modification

and/or alterations to the posts of the HANS® system.

HANS DEVICE (Head And Neck Support) ®

Jet Auto è omologato per l’utilizzo del sistema HANS® secondo lo standard FIA

8860-2004 ed è fornito con attacchi (posts) montati all’origine e certificati da

Suomy secondo quanto richiesto dagli STD di omologazione.

Per questo motivo

gli attacchi del sistema HANS® non possono essere

manomessi, rimossi e/o sostituiti; la rimozione degli attacchi, modifiche e/o

alterazioni al sistema e/o ai suoi componenti o comunque qualsiasi

intervento eseguito da personale esterno all’organizzazione Suomy, comportano

l’annullamento della garanzia, rendono il prodotto non conforme alle norme di

omologazione e possono comprometterne i requisiti di sicurezza.

Per qualsiasi intervento sugli attacchi del sistema HANS® il casco deve

essere tassativamente inviato a Suomy.

Suomy declina pertanto ogni responsabilità derivante dalla modifica e/o

alterazione degli attacchi del sistema HANS®.

cess, that’s why Suomy reserves the right to make changes, without prior notice,

to the products object of this manual. It is therefore not possible to exercise any

rights on the basis of the information, illustrations and descriptions contained in

this manual.

JetAuto was developed and tested to assure, together with the safety features, the

best level of comfort and noise reduction during ordinary conditions of use.

However, the particular configuration of the vehicle and/or the position of the rider

or both factors can entail situations that could not be foreseen during the

manufacturing of the product that may generate aerodynamic rustles or hissing

sounds.
